Near Zero
Paulo Coelho:
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
I like the above quote, and now that I think about it, I can see why it is true.
If achieving a goal in life is reaching the top of a mountain and you just walk aimlessly through life, there are 360 degrees in which you could walk. Only 1 will take you to the mountain. You have a 1/360 probability of getting what you want here.
But life is 3D, not 2D.
In 3D (three dimensions: X, Y, Z), there’s still only one exact direction that points from A to B, but now you also have altitude to consider. You need to reach a specific point in space.
If you move in a direction at random, the probability of hitting that point is 1/(360*360) or 0.00077%.
The probability you get what you want out of life is 0.00077%.
You have a near zero probability that you will get what you want out of life if you do not know what you want and intentionally align your actions with that objective.
What is Elon Musk’s probability of reaching Mars? I would guess 90%.
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
Maybe you should take a day to think about who and what you want in life.
Go from 8am to 6pm — it’ll only take 10 hours. Bring paper and pens, and nothing else.
I haven't got it figure out, through isolation and peace I have a deeper understand of what society wants for me which I do not.
But in isolation you are shielded from seeing things which you don't know you would want.
As with everything in life, it's a balancing act.
Moving forward I will be much more intentional with allocating time to define what I do and do not want from life.
I wish you the reader may also find what you want from life and go get it.
